Jewellery, cash stolen from house of pvt college administrator

: A four member gang today looted some jewellery and cash from the residence of an administrator of a private college in neighbouring Sultanpet village after tying up both the man and his son, police said.
They said Abdul Rahman was coming out of his house in the morning to go to a nearby mosque when the waiting gang accosted him, forcibily took him back, tied him and his son up before, threatened the inmates with dire consequnces and decamping with the jewellery and cash.
Neigbhours who heard their shouts for help rushed to the house and free them.
The exact quantity of cash and jewellery stolen was being ascertained, they said.

Inspector of Police B.Ranganathan said a case was registered and a search was on to trace the culprits.
