Jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh looted at gunpoint

Three miscreants including a woman today looted jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh and Rs 8,000 cash from a residential complex in Kagalnagar under Sonari police station here, police said.
The miscreants knocked on the door of one Srijan Dutta, a resident of Shivam Apartment, and held him at gun-point, forcing him to open the almirah, officer-in-charge of the police station, Anuj Kumar said.
They looted ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh and also Rs 8,000 cash, he said adding that they escaped after committing the crime.
Dutta was alone at home when the incident occurred, he said.
Identity of the miscreants was not yet established but police has launched a hunt to apprehend them, he said.
