A feature film adapted from a TV series about a modern-day descendant of Dr Jekyll is in the works at Lionsgate.
The studio teams up with Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman, who are set to produce the feature film adaptation through their A Very Good Production banner, reported Aceshowbiz.
The film is adapted from BBC One's 2007 six-episode series "Jekyll" which was written by Steven Moffat ("Doctor Who").
Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry have been recruited to write the screenplay for the project.
The TV series was described as a sequel to the Robert Louis Stevenson novella "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde". It revolved around a modern-day descendant of Dr Jekyll, who began transforming into a version of Mr Hyde.
Dr Jekyll will also be brought to the big screen by Universal. Russell Crowe has been tapped to play the role.
He will appear in "The Mummy" remake starring Tom Cruise and might get a solo film later as part of the studio's Monster universe.
