Sixty per cent of new account holders were issued RuPay cards, Sinha, who is also the Principal Secretary in the state Information Technology department, said yesterday.
With the target to achieve at least one bank account for every household by January 26, those who open accounts before that date would be entitled to life insurance cover of Rs 30,000.
Sinha, however, said all new account holders under the Yojana would be under accident insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh and an overdraft limit of Rs 5,000.
The target achieved by Jharkhand so far is more than that of Delhi's 19.5 lakh households and will continue to cover more families.
