The Jharkhand assembly today witnessed din by the opposition parties, who demanded scrapping of the amendments in the Land Acquisition Act by the state government, forcing adjournment of the House till tomorrow.
The opposition was protesting against Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Jharkhand Amendment) Act, 2017 brought by Raghubar Das government by amending 2013 Land Acquisition Act.
Speaker Dinesh Oraon adjourned the House at 11.20 am after leader of the opposition Hemant Soren of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha demanded scrapping of the Act and the JMM MLAs trooped into the well.
The Speaker was forced to adjourn the House till 12.30 after his requests to the opposition members to take their seats fell on deaf ears.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Nilkanth Singh Munda said the bill was passed by the Tribal Affairs Committee (TAC) and then came to the assembly but the opposition did not debate over it.
He said the opposition members, who were in the TAC, also signed during the meeting of the TAC and now shedding crocodile tears.

Even after the House convened at 12.30, the scene remained the same, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the assembly till tomorrow.
On July 5 last principal opposition JMM had observed a dawn-to-dusk Jharkhand bandh protest amendments in the Land Acquisition Act.
The bandh was supported by the Congress, the RJD and the JVM (Prajatantrik) of former chief minister Babulal Marandi.
