Jharkhand budget in Lok Sabha

A day after Parliament approved proclamation of President's rule in Jharkhand, the budget for the state for 2013-14 was tabled in Lok Sabha by Finance Minister P Chidambaram today.
The state's annual plan has been pegged at Rs 16,800 crore, while the total expenditure has been estimated at Rs 39,548 crore, the budget documents showed.
Besides a statement on the estimated receipts and expenditure of Jharkhand for 2013-14, Chidambaram presented the Supplementary Demand for Grants for 2012-13.
The budget is likely to be taken up by Parliament for discussion soon.
The resolution for proclamation of President's rule in Jharkhand was yesterday passed by voice vote in the Lok Sabha. The Rajya Sabha had passed the resolution on February 26.
President's rule was imposed in January following the resignation of Chief Minister Arjun Munda resigned after his government was reduced to a minority.
