Jharkhand CM distributes pucca houses to homeless people

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das distributed 20,051 pucca houses to the homeless people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)scheme here today.
"Today is the happiest day of my life because 20,051 homeless families are being given pucca houses," Das said at a function that was organised to distribute pucca houses to the beneficiaries.
Das also announced that nobody would remain homeless in the state by 2020, a press release said.
In order to give the homeless a dignified life, the government is providing electricity, toilets, water, gas cylinders and ovens, the press release quoting Das said.
The chief minister also said that the newly constructed houses should be registered in the name of women.
He also said that to fulfil Mahatma Gandhis Swachhta dream, 41 cities in the state have become open defection free (ODF), adding that by 2018 the whole state would become ODF.

Around 91,000 houses were approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme, the release quoting Das said.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand unit of BJP today congratulated the Raghubar Das government for distributing houses to 20,051 beneficiaries and announcing 41 cities as open defecation free.
Party spokesman Pratul Shahdeo said that the chief ministers will power has enabled ODF of all city areas, after Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, a party release said here.
He praised for better homework in connection with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, proving itself in distributing more than 20,000 houses through hard work in less time and the chief minister brought smiles to thousands of poor families through the house warming ceremony.
