Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today urged Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry to open a branch of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the state to enable IIT professionals to stay at home and find work.
"The IIT professionals go outside the state for jobs. If the TCS opens a centre in Jharkhand the youth could get jobs in the state itself and could accelerate the economic system of the state," a statement, quoting Das during his meeting with Mistry here, said.
Stating that his government has decided to make Ranchi and Jamshedpur as Information Technology hub, Das told Mistry that the Tata Group could lend its support through software development centre.
Das also proposed Mistry to consider opening centres in Jharkhand on the pattern of Tata Institute of Fundamental Researches, Mumbai, and National Centre for Performing Arts.
The statement said that the Tata group would seriously initiate all the proposals and the chief minister committed that the government would support it in every possible way.
