Jharkhand CM welcomes implementation of OROP

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today welcomed the Union government's decision to implement the long-pending 'One Rank One Pension' demand of ex-service personnel.
Stating that OROP would benefit the ex-service personnel, Das said the Centre's decision would boost the morale of the service personnel whose constructive energy could be utilised in the country's march on the path of development, an official release said here.
The release quoting Das said the forces have always remained alert in securing the country as well as helping during natural calamities.
Earlier today Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar announced that OROP, which implies uniform pension for armed forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, would be implemented from July 1, 2014, on the basis of calender year 2013.
However, ex-service personnel, who have been on agitation, rejected the key details of the decision and said their stir would continue.
