"The process of land distribution to the landless began today. At least 5,000 landless people will get deeds by this month end," Chief Minister Hemant Soren said after distributing deeds under the Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act among beneficiaries.
Renewing his multi-party coalition government's pledge to serve all sections, Soren also gave away cycle-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, a truck, laptops, appointment letters and solar lamps.
"Clearing various bottlenecks, our government confirmed the services of 202 contractual doctors, proving that the coalition has the willpower and capability to achieve various goals," Soren said.
He promised to bring more educational institutions run by minority communities under the government's grant-in-aid programme. Soren also noted that e-governance helped speed up welfare schemes like old-age pension and scholarships.
