In the next cabinet meeting, the state government will take a decision to impose ban on use of polythene bags in the state, the Chief Minister said after laying the laid foundation of Navjeevan Kust Ashram (Lepers colony) at Deonagar here and Chakulia Urban Water project here.
Das said polythene bags were responsible for death of cows in many cases and choked drains and those found holding or using polythene bags would be jailed.
We would provide clothes to Mahila Sakhis Mandals to make bags, he said adding that the objective was to develop the state as "Clean Jharkhand, Green Jharkhand and Swach Jharkhand".
People should not expect that the government would do everything but they should also discharge their bit of responsibility to achieve the goal, Das said while announcing to develop Jharkhand's urban areas as Open Defecation Free by October two, 2017 and entire state by 2018.
