Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the state government would provide loans from government undertakings to people belonging to SC/ST and backward class, so that they do not have to go to banks.
Funds will be made available to Tribal Cooperative Corporation and Scheduled Cast Commission, while financial corporations will be created for backward classes, Das said at a meeting of government officials.
"Financial empowerment of the commissions will help people of SC/ST and backward classes get loan to set up small industry or trade. They will not have to go to banks," an official release said quoting him.
Stating that income of the people could be increased by connecting them, Das said 10 groups of 30 women each would be set up in the six most backward districts and would be imparted training in shoe making and they would be provided with raw materials.
He said they can sell the shoes in the market and the remaining would be purchased by the government.
Stating that traditional trade would be made popular, Das said that Jharkhand has good artistes, who are unorganised. They are being organised and market is being made available to them, he said.
