Jharkhand to directly recruit Asian Athletics Meet medalists

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the government has decided to directly recruit any of its athletes winning medals in the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships.
The government was also pondering over to increase existing prize money to medal winners at national and international level, an official release said quoting Das.
He said the government was making all efforts to provide better facilities to help sport persons bring laurels at the international sporting arena, adding there was enormous sporting talent in the state and called upon the youth to take up sports as career and avail government facilities.
Citing how Jharkhand has given cricketer M S Dhoni, archer Deepika Kumari and a host of international hockey players, Das said sports university and sport academy would come up in the state.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 27th three-day Eastern Zone Junior National Athletics Championships here.
