"Under the Scheme for Providing Quality Education in Madrasas, Rs 497 crore has been released. Besides this, Rs 26 crore has been approved as grant-in-aid for Madrasas and Sanskrit schools," Ram told reporters here.

Committing for the development of minority educational institutions, he said that teachers of Madrasas were also getting benefits as per the sixth pay commission.

Stating that teaching in English medium has begun in 89 model schools, Ram said funds were released to pay honorarium to the teachers working in those institutions.

"Efforts are on to solve problems of schools for the minorities so that salaries and other benefits could be given on time," he added.

To lend free education to graduation-level girls in other education institutions, the minister said Rs three crore was released.
