Chief Minister Arjun Munda directed Home Secretary J B Tubid to sanction a furnished accommodation for an office, ten home guards, four computer operators, vehicle for proper functioning of the Commission, an official press release said here.

He also asked to provide accommodation to the members of the Commission, it added.

Munda's direction came after his meeting with two members of the Commission---former deputy chief minister and JMM leader Sudhir Mahato and Laxman Tudu, who informed the chief minister about the requirements of the Commission.

Headed by Justice (retd) Vikramaditya Prasad, the Commission so far received about 50,000 applications claiming participation in the statehood movement, the release added.

Asked how long it would take to the identification exercise by the Commission, Mahato said, "It will take time because the statehood movement was several decades old."

He said the Commission has been set up to identify genuine andolankaris to honour them and provide varying compensations to the participants and their dependents.

The chief minister had earlier announced in the state assembly to this effect.
