The woman, Rupa Devi, was allegedly shot dead by Ram Swaroop Dwiwedi, who was miffed after she ended their relationship, Inspector General of Police (law and order) B P Singh told reporters.
Dwiwedi later shot himself with the same weapon in nearby Auta village, he said.
Devi purportedly had an affair with Dwiwedi after her husband's death. Their relationship, however, soured in the last few days, following which Devi spurned him, the IG said. PTI AVA PG
