ABC has announced that the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host will use hologram technology to appear simultaneously in Los Angeles and Nashville, reported Deadline.
The television event is being organised to coincide with the 48th Annual CMA Awards, airing on ABC on November 5.
Hologram USA's technology will allow Kimmel's image to be beamed from his Los Angeles studio to the CMA Awards stage in Nashville for his late-night monologue.
Kimmel will then interview his first guest from Hollywood, while a second guest will be a CMA Award winner whose image is beamed in from Nashville as a hologram.
Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s special episode will also include appearances by CMA Awards host Brad Paisley and married couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
