Union minister Jitendra Singh today gave a call to "liberate" Pakistan-occupied- Kashmir (PoK), Gilgit and Balochistan at the launch of Tiranga yatra from here, saying its actual culmination would be with the hoisting of national flag in Kotli and Muzaffarabad.
"We have flagged off 'Tiranga yatra' from the border district of Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir with a call to liberate PoK. Its actual culmination will happen when we will hoist the tricolour in Kotli and Muzaffarabad (in PoK)," he told reporters here.
Singh, the Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and local MP, said "It will be first of its kind in India. It (the PoK issue) has a special significance as it is being flagged off from the border area, which is close to PoK."
"In wake of Prime Minister's call yesterday to work for the liberation of PoK from Pakistan's illegal occupation and make it a part of India union, the movement will start from the border district of Kathua and will inspire the entire country," he said.
Barely hours after Modi's statement on Balochistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), the Jammu and Kashmir BJP last night called for "moral, political and financial" support to the "freedom movement" in PoK.

said.
Modi, at a four-hour long all party meeting yesterday, had asserted that PoK was a part of Jammu and Kashmir and asked the participants to "expose Pakistan's atrocities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Balochistan".
"We are encouraged by the yesterday's statement of Prime Minister. We have started this yatra with a aim to liberate our brothers in PoK areas," Singh said.
"We have linked it with yatra. I have said that though the yatra programmes would officially culminate on August 23, but its actual culmination will happen when we would hoist the Tricolour in Kotli and Muzaffarbad," he said
Asked if the Centre will take a call to directly support the causes of PoK and Balochistan, Singh said, "It is our moral responsibility to highlight the human rights violations occurring in Pakistan, particularly in those areas of Pakistan which are part of India and under its illegal occupation including Gilgit, Balochistan and PoK".
"On the one hand Pakistan continues to occupy them illegally while on the other hand it has unleashed its oppression and human rights violations to sub due them and keep them under as its colony", the Union Minister said.
