The gold in the event was won by Brazil's Felipe Almeida Wu, who shot 201.9 in the finals to beat Wil Brown of the USA, who shot 201.4. The Xuan Vinh Hoang of Vietnam clinched the Bronze with a final round score of 180.1.
In the Men's 50M Rifle Prone event, the other event that was decided on day three, India's Gagan Narang shot 617.1 in qualifying to be placed 13th in the final standings while Chain Singh shot 616.4 to be 19th.
Sanjeev Rajput shot a score of 608 and ended in 49th place in the competition.
