CPI(M) in Jammu and Kashmir today accused the state administration of failing to control the spread of swine flu and alleged that no concrete action has been taken on ground to tackle the contagious disease.
"It seems the administration is passing the buck and has confined itself to announcements that are bereft of any concrete action on the ground," CPI (M) state secretary and MLA-elect Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said here today.
"The health authorities have so far failed to equip hospitals with the requisite infrastructure and medicines especially the recommended vaccines," he said.
"Leave away the required medicines, the hospitals in the state don't have the supply of masks to equip its own staff," Tarigami said.
Tarigami said that the health authorities in the state have not only aggravated the situation for the people but has put the hospital staff in risk of contamination.
"There are only a few hospitals in the state where the isolation wards have been dedicated for the swine flu patients and rest of the hospitals are yet to take a call on it," he said.
