JK DGP discusses ways to strengthen police force

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid today held a meeting with senior police officers to discuss ways of improving and strengthening the state police force.
He said the police headquarters (PHQ) has a parental role in solving the problems of personnel deployed in different regions of the state.
Addressing the meeting at the police headquarters here, Vaid emphasised upon latest researches on policing and a comprehensive policy for improving the working of the state police.
He said various issues related to the forces need to be revisited from time to time for enhancing the capabilities of personnel.
"Transparency and quality in our daily working needs to be discussed at different levels to enhance basic amenities for the personnel," he said.
We have to work together for career development and attitudinal improvement of the force, he said.
The DGP also stressed on organising lectures and workshops especially in police training institutions.
He added that drug abuse was a major concern for JKP and all investigating agencies should sit together and formulate a policy which could pay good dividends in curbing the menace.
