During the 30-minute meeting here, the governor apprised Singh about the prevailing situation in the Kashmir Valley and steps taken for restoring normalcy.
They also discussed, among other issues, the ceasefire violations from across the border, increasing infiltration attempts and the incidence of terrorism in the Valley.
A 40-year-old woman was killed in firing by the Pakistani Army on border villages in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on August 12.
Pakistan violated the ceasefire four times on August 13 by firing at and shelling Krishnagati, Nowshera and Mankote, resulting in injuries to three jawans.
Till August 1 this year, there have been 285 instances of ceasefire violations by the Pakistani forces. In 2016, the number was significantly less at 228.
