Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra visited Poonch district today and expressed concern over non completion of development work.
Vohra released an additional assistance of Rs 6.5 crore to accelerate the ongoing work in the border district, an official spokesman said.
Accompanied by his advisor B B Vyas and the Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Rohit Kansal, Vohra made the visit to ascertain the bottlenecks which were impeding the completion of work in the field, the spokesman said.
Vohra had earlier visited Budgam and Anantnag districts of Kashmir where he had ordered the release of an additional amount of Rs five crore each to speed up the pace of work, the spokesperson said.
He said that the governor chaired a meeting with all the six sitting legislators, including three members of the legislative assembly, who raised various development issues pertaining to the district as well as to their respective constituencies.
Vohra gave them a patient hearing and assured early resolution of the issues raised by them, the spokesman said.
