Shrinking the big fat Kashmiri wedding and other opulent functions, the Jammu and Kashmir government had recently imposed curbs on expenses, the guest list and dishes to be served on such occasions. The order will be implemented from April 1.
"We condemn the ruling alliance for issuing absurd orders like Guest Control Order to divert the attention of the public from its mis-governance," Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman Harsh Dev Singh told reporters here.
He alleged that the state government seemed to have lost its political acumen and the regime had now started poking its nose into the private lives of citizens.
On February 21, the Mehbooba Mufti government had issued the "Guest Control Order" to impose restrictions on "injudicious" use of essential commodities during social, government and private wedding functions in the state.
It also imposed a complete ban on use of amplifiers, loud speakers and fire crackers in such functions.
