JK govt's new recruitment policy suspicious: NC

National Conference today questioned Jammu and Kashmir government's new recruitment policy, alleging that the government was making back door appointments by surpassing established institutions.
"It needs to be clarified as to whether the coalition government has resolved to make back door appointments to the extent of 15,000," Provincial President National Conference (NC) Devender Singh Rana said.
In a significant decision, the state government announced on Sunday that it has formulated a new recruitment policy to make appointment against gazetted and non-gazetted vacancies on contractual basis.
However, after the announcement, JK Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu said it is not a new recruitment policy but short term policy to fill 15,000 vacancies only.

The NC leader alleged,"This speaks of the malicious plan drawn by the government to trample established mechanism and well defined norms of recruitment. This is not only discriminatory but also violative of the fundamental rights of the stake holders."
In the process, the end sufferers would be the unemployed educated, who in all probability will be subjected to exploitation, he claimed.
"This will also open channels of corruption and give rise to nepotism, which a state like Jammu and Kashmir cannot afford which has suffered immensely over the years," he said.
The Provincial President said that the coalition government is venturing out in political misadventurism by bypassing the recruitment agencies like Public Service Commission and the State Subordinate Recruitment Board, which have a track record of fair and transparent selections.
