JK govt sanctions cash, foodgrains for KPs in advance

In view of coming Maha Shivratri festival, the Jammu and Kashmir government today sanctioned required monthly cash assistance and foodgrains for Kashmiri Pandit migrants settled in different parts of the country in advance for the current month.
"Required monthly cash assistance and foodgrains are sanctioned in favour of Kashmiri Pandit migrants settled in different parts of the country in advance for the current month," Finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather said.
He directed concerned officials to ensure payments in this regard without any delay.
Cash assistance amounting to Rs 135 crore and foodgrains worth Rs 8.50 crore per annum are being provided to these Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
Maha Shivratri festival will be celebrated across the country on February 27.
