JK govt takes serious note of repeated ceasefire violations
Press Trust of India Srinagar Jammu and Kashmir government today took serious note of the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) and decided to approach External Affairs Minister Salam Khurshid for raising the issue with his Pakistani counterpart.
"The Cabinet which met here under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a serious note of the repeated ceasefire violations along the LOC, which have caused great distress to the residents, inhabiting these areas," an official spokesman said.
He said the cabinet decided that the matter be brought to the notice of the External Affairs Minister for being raised during his upcoming meeting with his Pakistani counterpart.
Khurshid will have informal discussions with his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.
