JK Govt to deploy over 15,000 employees for LS polls in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to deploy 15,314 state employees during election duty in Jammu constituency for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in the state scheduled for April 10.
The government employees would be deployed from various departments and will be given training in this regard, district officials said, adding, maximum number of employees have been drawn from the Education department.
Election Authority issued a notification on March 15 for filing of nominations by candidates contesting elections for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat.
The notification, issued by Returning Officer of Jammu LS constituency Ajit Kumar Sahu, invited nominations from eligible candidates for election to be held for Jammu parliamentary constituency.
"The nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposer to the Returning Officer (Deputy commissioner), Jammu or to Assistant Returning Officer (Additional District Development Commissioner), Jammu at DC office in Jammu between 11 am to 3 pm on any day not later than March 22," Sahu said.
The scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on March 24 while the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till March 26, the notification said.
The notification for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat would be issued on March 19 and the candidates can file their nomination papers till March 26.
