JK Guv pays obeisance at Vaishnodevi, prays for peace

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Vaishnodevi at Katra in Reasi district and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state.
On the first day of Navaratri, a major Hindu festival lasting 9 days, Vohra paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity in the state, officials said.
The Governor, chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, inaugurated several infrastructure development projects and launched a number of schemes of the Shrine Board.
He also reviewed ongoing development works of the Board, the officials said.
Vohra inspected several projects and inaugurated Parvati Bhawan, constructed at a cost of Rs 3.58 crore.
This 4-storey building had dormitory accommodation for 200 people besides locker facilities, the officials said.
The Governor also inaugurated Jaikara Bhojanalya at the Bhawan and inspected the under-construction pony stand.
Vohra walked from Sanjichhat to the Bhawan and met and spoke to a number of pilgrims.
