"The Chief Minister till late last night personally oversaw the rescue and relief operation carried by Army, Police and Civic Administration at Barzulla and adjacent areas (in Srinagar city) to evacuate people from submerged areas," an official said.
They said Omar remained with rescue teams while the patients and attendants of Bone and Joints Hospital, Barzulla were evacuated to safer places.
"The Chief Minister also oversaw the evacuation and rescue of people from other submerged areas. The rescue operation continued throughout the night," the official said.
The chief minister also visited Channapora, Natipora, Padshahibagh and Bemina areas of the city in the night hours.

"Omar gave strict directions to the administration for taking all measures to safeguard human lives. He told the administration to make safety of human beings first priority while conducting rescue operations," the official added.
He also directed for establishing shelter camps for the affected families and providing food, blankets, medicines and other items of requirement to them.
The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 20 crores to meet the emergency expenditure on account of rescue and relief operation in the state.
