The Conference termed the proposed BDC elections as "another drama" of the state government.
"Second tier elections should be conducted after the implementation of 73rd Amendment of Constitution in the Jammu and Kashmir," JKPC Convener, Shafiq Mir, said in a meeting here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Panchayat leaders unanimously demanded that the BDC elections should be differed for a time bound period till the 73rd Amendment is implemented in the state.
Mir said that without the implementation of 73rd Amendment, the BDC institution will be as useless as Panches and Sarpanches of the state.
Mir said that already the elections were one-and-a-half year late and there was no harm if some more delay is made for the sake of good.
