JKNPP threatens to launch 'civil disobedience movement'

The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers party (JKNPP) today threatened to launch a state wide "civil disobedience movement" from August 1, if the JK government fails to fulfil the demands of the party.
"We will launch quit Jammu Pradesh Movement and civil disobedience movement from August 1 if our demands are not accepted. Our first and foremost demand is AIIMS for Jammu," Prof Bhim Singh, Chief patron of the JKNPP said here.
Singh said that his party wants reorganisation of the state with the creation of Dogra Pahari Pradesh.
"Our other demands include, immediate delimitation of the assembly constituencies, reservation of eight assembly seats for refugees from Pakistan occupied Kashmir, rotation of the assembly seats reserved for Schedule Castes," he said.
He said that his party also demand Schedule Tribe status for Paharies and political reservation in the assembly for Schedule Tribes.
"We also demand comprehensive settlement of PoK and Pak refugees with full civil rights, ownership rights to all allottees for PoK, Pak and others on the evacuee agricultural land. We also demand withdrawal of the Resettlement Act," he said, adding, the party has given a list of 24 demands to the state government.
