JKPCC blames BJP for divisive politics on Ladakh
Press Trust of India Jammu Hitting out at BJP for its "divisive" slogans to exploit the regional sentiments of Ladakh in a bid to woo voters, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today warned BJP to desist from using foul language.
"We strongly criticise BJP for its divisive slogans to exploit the regional sentiments of the people in the state, eyeing elections on Ladakh seat," JKPCC said in a statement here tonight.
Reacting to certain objectionable terms being used by some BJP leaders of the state against Congress party and its senior leaders, JKPCC asked the BJP to desist from their "foul language" while seeking votes.
The people of the state are aware of the double standards of the BJP on its slogans like abrogation of Article 370, uniform civil codes, construction of Ram temple which were never discussed by it whenever in power but are always used as election planks, it said.
BJP should not forget that it even failed to open its account in the Hill Council elections in Kargil and Leh in the recent past, it added.
The electorate of Ladakh region are wise enough to see through the political game of the BJP and others and would not fall prey to the designs of opportunistic forces, it said.
The Congress party ensured that Ladakh region gets its due political and economic share besides faster development in view of the topographical and locational disadvantages of this region, the statement said, adding, the people of Leh and Kargil districts are better aware of the initiatives of the Congress led UPA government and the coalition government in the state.
The BJP can't do anything good to Ladakh region but it should avoid sowing seeds of hatred in the sensitive region, it alleged.
