JKW Commission to write to Swaraj, demand action against Jugal

Condemning a BJP MLA's behaviour against a woman member in the J&K Assembly, state Women Commission will write a letter to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj for taking stern action against the guilty member.
"We condemn yesterday's incident of derogatory behaviour of MLA Jugal Kishore, who is also the state president of BJP against Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo, in the Assembly. I will write a letter to Sushma Swaraj for taking stern action against him," chairperson of J&K Women Commission, Shamima Firdous told reporters here today.
Shamima, who is also an MLA from the Habakadal constituency, said the incident is condemnable and has no parallel in any civil society.

On one side there is hue and cry in the country to empower the women folk and safe guard their rights, while it is most deplorable that an elected public representative misbehaved in such a manner with a senior woman Minister of the state on the floor of the House, she said.
This ugly incident should be condemned by one and all irrespective of party affiliations, she said.
Shamima also said that she will write to the Governor about the incident.
