Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will recall 36,415 faulty luxury cars in China from July 1 to rectify some problems.
The recall, filed by the Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Trading (Shanghai) Co., involves Jaguar XJ and XF models produced between March 29, 2012, and October 6, 2015, a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said.
The producer spray-painted lids of the idle gears of the engines, and this may lead to fractures of screw bolts and separation of idle gears and engines, according to the statement.
Also, BMW China Automotive Trading Ltd. Is to recall some imported BMW 7 series models over flawed air bags from May 25.
The recall will involve 3,115 vehicles sold on the Chinese mainland that were produced between June 24, 2015, and December 11, 2015, GAQSIQ said in a statement.
A sheet metal in the air bag control unit may cause a restart of the unit and thus air bags may fail to function in collisions, the statement said.
The company will replace the faulty parts free of charge, it said.
