"Gujarat chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) jointly with the Blind People Association (BPA) will organise a job fair for the differently-abled persons on June 20," said Piruz Khambatta, chairman of CII western region sub-committee on corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Khambatta said their focus is on service industries, as manufacturing and sales sectors have certain issues.
As per the census-2011, there are 25,000 visually impaired persons and three lakh people with other kinds of disabilities in the city.
CII and BPA expect more than 1,000 differently-abled persons and over 20 organisations to participate in the job fair.

BPA executive secretary Bhushan Punani said companies like Tata Motors Limited, Aegis Limited, Future Group, Arvind Limited, Azure Knowledge Corporation and TCS would seek employees from among the differently-abled persons.
Other companies, including SHARDA Trust, Warmstream, Harsha Engineering Ltd, Prot systems Pvt Ltd, Pride Hotel, Voltamp Transformers Ltd, Novatel Hotel, Mayflower Hospital and Apollo Hospital would also participate, he said.
As per BPA's records, last year 450 aspirants had participated in the job fair out of which 120 differently- abled persons were selected.
