The 75-year-old actor, who announced in June that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, is overjoyed that his treatment has gone "brilliantly" and he is now looking ahead to the future, reported Female First.
Speaking at the Man Booker Prize ceremony in London, he said: "I had a final scan and it's all gone brilliantly. I had the final scan yesterday and I saw my oncologist this morning. I am overjoyed, I am thrilled. It all looks great for the future, it's fantastic."
The "Elephant Man" star, however, admitted he was wary of using words such as "remission" even "if it's true".
Despite his cancer diagnosis, John pledged to continue working and has always been upbeat about the outcome of his treatment.
