Kennedy, who is serving as producer on the JJ Abrams-directed Episode VII, made the announcement at the Star Wars Celebration event in Essen, Germany, reported Digital Spy.
"I had breakfast with someone very important to the Star Wars family last Friday, and he has committed to working on Episode VII. And that is Mr John Williams," Kennedy said.
"Every time I hear John's music, it just gives me the chills. It's so important to the saga."
Williams said that classic 'Star Wars' themes will be incorporated into Episode VII.

Williams, a five-time Oscar winner, has scored all six of George Lucas's previous 'Star Wars' movies and is a regular collaborator with Steven Spielberg. Episode VII will be the first time he has worked with JJ Abrams.
The iconic themes from 'Harry Potter', 'Jaws', 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', 'Superman' and 'ET' are all Williams compositions.
