Speaking at a seminar on 'Destroy FDI and Save India' organised by Andhra Pradesh state BJP here today, he said FDI would ruin the economy, particularly the retail sector, and would be against the interests of farmers, common man and businessmen.
Refuting the UPA government's claim that it would benefit the consumers as well as farmers, Joshi alleged that Central government was misleading the people.
Alleging that UPA government had taken the decision under foreign pressure, he asked, "Why did the government take the decision at the time of elections in America?"
UPA was sensitive only to the needs of MNCs, he said, adding MNCs would not buy products from farmers once they get control of retail market, or would dictate terms to farmers and dump foreign goods.
