In a bid to improve communication and promote ties between India and China, an English magazine that presents Chinese account on relationship with India, has been launched at the World Book Fair.
The magazine, 'China-India Dialogue' published by China Pictorial, aims to establish better communication between the two countries with a view to resolve important issues between them.
The Beijing-based publication has attempted to cover issues pertaining to culture, tradition, tourism, academics, art, air quality etc.
Speaking at its launch here last evening, former ambassador to France and Germany T C A Rangachari stressed on the need to enhance the knowledge about China to Indians and hailed the move of China.
"So far as India is concerned the level and our information about China is very, very low. The Chinese know much more about India than we know about China. We need to very significantly enhance our knowledge about China and journals of this kind, since it is in English would give you some information about China," Rangachari said.
The magazine has articles from both Indian as well as Chinese writers, including diplomats and highlights the digital campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.

The former ambassador emphasised on the need to have more publications and other sources of information about China.
"We should look at not only journals like these but also other publications and other sources of information about China. There can be no better way to get to know about each other than a journal like this. I am hopeful of bringing an India-China dialogue," he said.
The inaugural issue contains a piece by Indian ambassador to China Ashok K Kantha who has written about the India-China Economic Cooperation and prospects of growth.
Chinese ambassador to India Le Yucheng has also written a piece in the journal about promoting exchanges and mutual understanding between China and India.
"I believe that with the joint effort of the peoples of China and India, there will be more frequent exchanges between the two countries, and mutual trust will become deeper," Le wrote.
Hailing the move, BJP MP Tarun Vijay who was present during the launch said that India should also bring out a similar magazine giving the view point of India on the Sino-India relationship.
"This is a move to improve the communication between India and China. The Indian government's aim is to enhance communication between Indian people and the Chinese. We have to understand and appreciate China through each other's eye and not though American or European news agencies," he said.
"India-China relation is not only politics, economy or military. It is the people. So let us understand each other's views, culture, contemporary Chinese movies, theatres and literature which would bring the people closer to each other. This is how we can resolve all our close issues also which are awaiting to be addressed," Vijay said.
The publication, Vijay says would also address the issue of rising pollution faced by both the countries.
"India and China are facing the same problem of pollution. The magazine would thus address this issue where we can have a dialogue and learn from each other," he added.
He stressed on the need of bringing the magazine in Indian languages to make people of both the countries aware about each other.
"It has a very good future because suggested that it should be published in Indian languages and not only be China-India dialogue but it should also be reflected in our keenness to improve the communication and there should be an India-China dialogue as well. We also want to give our view point in India-China relationship," he said.
The World Book fair that is set to continue till January 17 has China as the guest of honour country.
