Arif Gilkar, a resident of Srinagar's old city who works as an associate editor with 'Suraag-e-Kashmir' news magazine, has been arrested in a case registered in Nowhatta police station last year, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Khanyar Tahir Saleem said.
The officer said Gilkar was arrested after his name figured in police investigation into a case related to SIM cards used to access Internet for "subversive activities".
Saleem said Gilkar was produced before a court last Saturday and has been remanded to eight days custody.
