A group of journalists living in the colony met Dikshit today and demanded restoration of the original name which was in use for so many decades.

"We are shocked and extremely sorry to find that the name of the Press Enclave Marg that was in vougue and popular use for decades in Saket getting suddenly obliterated and renamed as Pt Trilok Chand Sharma Road," said a memorandum submitted to Dikshit by the Press Association Cooperative Group Housing Society.

Som Sapru, president of the association, said Dikshit expressed "shock and anguish" when the delegation informed her about the change in name of the road.

"Dikshit asked officials to examine the issue seriously. She assured us that the original name of the road will be restored," Sapru said.

The residents of the colony in their memorandum said no public notice was issued before changing the name of the road.

"The Press Enclave was the first cooperative group housing society launched in Delhi as far back as 1970s and it had remained a unique building complex in Saket," the memorandum said.

"Further it had housed journalist communities belonging to several national dailies, megazines and electronic media.

"So so it was quite apt and appropriate that the then urban development minister had named the road connecting (it) as Press Enclave Marg," the memorandum added.
