Jowar firmed up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by consuming industries against restricted supplies from producing regions.
However, other grains moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Marketmen said besides increased demand from consuming industries, restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in jowar prices.
In the national capital, jowar yellow and white were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 1,540-1,550 and Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal, respectively.
