JPA demands renovation of Namkum railway station

Jharkhand Passengers Association (JPA) today demanded renovation of Namkum railway station in Ranchi district, a day before the scheduled visit of Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.
The association submitted the chart of demands to Divisional Rail Manager Deepak Kashyap, demanding construction of toilets for both men and women, wheel chair for handicap people at the station and proper shade and lighting on the platform, JPA's honorary secretary Prem Kataruka said here.
Among others the association demanded extension of foot over bridge or construction of a new over bridge at the station to prevent any untoward incidents as school children cross the tracks every day.
According to an official release Gowda is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the afternoon tomorrow.
