Majority of the 58 government schools were functioning without a full-time Head Master/Principal, thus affecting the studies badly in the district, Chabban said here.
There was acute shortage of teachers but no concrete steps was taken by the state government, even though it had promised to recruit 34,000 school teachers within six months, he said.
Of the 58 schools, Chabban claimed 11 institutions have the facility for Plus two studies while the remaining 47 government high schools were being managed by Head Master/Principal in-charges.
