The opening ceremony was marked by colourful cultural programmes and an Army Band display.
Vohra, in his speech, appreciated the effort of the Army and civil administration in organising such an event.
He appealed to the masses, the youth in particular, for enthusiastic participation in such activities.
Lt Gen A S Nandal, GOC 16 Corps delivered the welcome address and expressed optimism that the event would bring out the hidden cricket talent of the region into limelight.
The league is being organised to foster participation of local youth in sporting activities and to select a few youngsters for institutes like National Cricket Academy and MRF Pace Academy. (More) PTI AB AH
