JSW Energy climbs 3 pc on board nod to raise funds via NCDs

Shares of JSW Energy surged almost three per cent on the bourses today after the company announced its board has approved raising funds of up to Rs 750 crore through issuance of redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) by way of private placement.
On NSE, the stock settled at Rs 56.95, up 2.71 per cent from its previous close. It had opened at Rs 55.55 and jumped 2.97 per cent to an intra-day high of Rs 57.10.
The scrip ended the day on BSE at Rs 56.60, up 1.98 per cent from its previous close. After opening at Rs 55.65, it jumped 3.06 per cent to an intra-day high of Rs 57.20.
At the end of today's trading session, the company's market capitalization soared by Rs 180.41 crore to Rs 9,282.71 crore.
On the volume front, about 20.44 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the bourses.
"The board (which met today) has approved the raising of funds up to Rs 750 crore through issuance of redeemable non-convertible debentures by way of private placement," the company said in a regulatory filing.
The board has also authorised the Finance Committee to decide on all matters relating to the proposed issuance of the debentures, including finalisation and approval of the detailed terms of issue, it added.
