The step was taken following complaints that personnel of the central forces were absent in booths and adjoining areas of the three districts of Jangalmahal during the first phase of the ongoing Assembly elections on April 4, he said.
Officials in the administration said a senior CRPF officer, who was in-charge of communicating between the state and the central force at the districts, had appealed to the state government through the EC for "logistic support" for the Joint wireless control room.

Till the first phase, the EC was keeping a tab on the movement of the central forces by taking reports from the district magistrates and the superintendents of police in each district.
"But now the monitoring will be done through the control room. Monitoring will be done on whether the forces have reached a specific place at a given time. If the central forces are taking out a route march at a place, the Joint Wireless Control room will take note of that also," the officer said.
If the central forces face any problem while moving around at a place, that too would be monitored by the officers at the control room.
"Central force had earlier come to the state several times but this is for the first time that such a control room has been opened here to monitor movement of the force," the officer said.
