"She didn't misbehave at all. She declined it (medal) very politely. I didn't say 'get out'. All I said was that if you are not accepting the medal then go back. I told her three times to take it," Tripathi, who is the chancellor of JU, told reporters here at a function.
The medal was the right of the student but she did not take it, he said adding "(it is) not an issue."
The students have been campaigning since September 17 demanding his resignation after a police crackdown during a gherao inside the university's campus.
