Jubilant FoodWorks Q1 net profit rises 6% to Rs 31.53 crore

Total income from operations on standalone basis up 19.68%

Jubilant FoodWorks, which operates Domino's Pizza and Dunkin Donuts chains in India, today reported 6.27 per cent increase in its standalone net profit at Rs 31.53 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 27.72 crore in the same period of previous fiscal.

Total income from operations on standalone basis was up 19.68 per cent to Rs 570.68 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 476.82 crore in the year-ago period, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (JFL) said in a filing to the BSE.

Commenting on results, JFL CEO Ajay Kaul said: "We have initiated the fiscal with heartening performance. Topline increased 20 per cent to Rs 5,70.7 crore and EBITDA margin grew 20 per cent to Rs 70.5 crore, while SSG for the quarter was 4.6 per cent.

"This reinstates that our fundamental formula to create unique experiences is resonating well with customers".

The company opened 35 Domino's Pizza outlets during the quarter.

Over the outlook, Kaul said: "As we look ahead towards FY16, we want to continue on the same path of productivity and prudently expanding our existing and new markets, continue inventing new products and raise the level of customer satisfaction".

The company's shares today settled 2.78 per cent down at Rs 1,768.60 apiece on the BSE.
